“Vanity fair”, those are the words that Suzy Menkes, famous British fashion critic, said about Dolce & Gabbana’s recent Alta Moda show.
The pair of creative directors of the Italian fashion house even joked before G that they would arrange to leave a cigarette on each guest’s seat.

“We don’t smoke weed.
But there is no need for any drugs, this collection and show itself is enough to make people drunk.

As always, Dolce & Gabbana’s wealthy guests will enjoy glasses of champagne while waiting for the show to start.
It all began with a nun and a glass of champagne from D & G!

Champagne was served by the nuns of Dolce & Gabbana.
And then the first models stepped out: Kitty Spencer in a giant dress printed with the words I promessi prosi – the name of the most famous Italian novel written by writer Alessandro Manzoni.

Then there’s a rather masculine model in a figure-hugging black velvet suit, another in a sassy royal outfit, and still another reprises her role as a stern nun.
“It (the collection) is not just about a reference,” Dolce said.
The Alta Moda collection is not just about a certain topic.
“At the end of the day, it’s all about clothes and emotions,” Gabbana added.
The Alta Moda show takes place like a procession of imaginary ghosts: generations of women who have loved and lived among the scattered rows of villas surrounding the stage – the chameleons of the land of Como.
As Dolce points out, this land has always been famous as a destination for romantic getaways – he claims that Queen Victoria also came here to rest.
The outfits kept coming one after another on the runway, challenging the eyes of even the most alert people with a party full of colors and patterns.
Tassels and all kinds of feathers are used thoroughly to adorn outfits that are still `too simple`.

And finally, indispensable, Dolce & Gabbana’s muse, Naomi Campbell, took her familiar proud steps, attracting all eyes with a colorful feathered dress.
