The film Diana is a vivid portrait of Diana, Princess of Wales during the last two years of her life.

The film is directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel (Oscar nominee for Downfall) and based on a script by talented screenwriter Stephen Jeffreys (The Clink, Libertinel).

Naomi Watts (Diana) was born in England, moved to Australia at the age of 14 and began studying acting.

To play Diana, Naomi spent a lot of time researching, practicing, and preparing for the role.

At the beginning of the pre-production process, Naomi, along with makeup artist Noriko Watanabe and director Hirschbiegel, studied many photos of Diana taken in the period 1996 – 1997. They wanted to look like the character but did not want to turn Naomi into

Costume designer Julian Day researched Diana’s simple, elegant style and conferred with Naomi to find what was right for her.

Filming took place in more than 100 locations over nine weeks in Croatia, South East England, central London, Pakistan and Mozambique.

Actress Naomi Watts shared that she felt responsible for Diana’s sons – now men – when playing their mother.

The film’s producer hopes the audience will find something for themselves from the life and love story of Princess Diana.
