Milan Fashion Week Fall-Winter 2018 has just ended, fashionistas are quickly flocking to Paris to catch the final leg of the fashion week season.
This Met Gala press conference was held in Rome, inside the Palazzo Colonna palace – a famous tourist destination (open only on Saturday mornings of the week) that any tourist wants to visit every day.

Palazzo Colonna is an ancient historical monument built in the 13th century. It was briefly the residence of the Pope.
At the press conference held at Palazzo Colonna, the Vatican’s minister of culture – Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi was joined by the editor-in-chief of US Vogue – Anna Wintour, creative director Donatella Versace and creative director of Valentino.

This year’s fashion exhibition theme is reminiscent of the collection called `Fashion Devotion` that was just introduced at this year’s Milan Fall-Winter fashion week by fashion house Dolce & Gabbana.

This year’s Met Gala exhibition will display costume samples from formal occasions at the Vatican, accompanied by unique accessories.

This year’s theme of the Met Gala fashion exhibition is the most controversial, displaying fashion designs next to the formal clothes of the Popes at the Vatican.
Responding to public opinion attacking this year’s theme, Anna Wintour shared:
“Fashion is a mirror that reflects what happens around us and no one understands this better than Andrew (Bolton).

The Met Gala fashion exhibition – often compared to the Oscars ceremony of the fashion industry, will open on May 7 and officially open to welcome the public from May 10.
The theme of last year’s Met Gala 2017 fashion exhibition was `Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between` – to honor the artistic values of designer Rei Kawakubo as well as her dedication to the brand.
