One fine day, you buy a new Hot game on Steam to add to your game library.

Step 1: Make sure your computer meets the game’s minimum specifications

If you’re new to PC gaming and don’t know much about computers, click the search icon on the Windows 10 taskbar and search for `system`.

Now compare your computer’s configuration parameters with the game’s minimum configuration.

If your computer is using an old version of Windows like XP, 7 or a `Song generation` video card like GT 730 (while the game platform requires GTX 660 or higher), then you should choose the method of upgrading.

Step 2:  Restart your PC and try again

If the configuration is qualified to play the game, you should continue to step 2, which is restarting the computer.

Also related: if your computer is in CPU or GPU overclocking mode, you should turn it off now.

Step 3: Update your GPU Driver

If a game cannot run, it is most likely because your GPU driver has a problem or is too old.

If you own an Nvidia GeForce GPU, you can go to the GeForce Experience app to check for driver updates.

If you have updated to the latest version of the GPU driver, we recommend that you delete the GPU driver and reinstall all new GPU drivers.

Step 4: Disable anti-virus software and other unrelated software

Sometimes anti-virus software gets confused and prevents your game from working.

You can also disable any other unrelated applications that may be causing the problem.

Step 5: Remove and unplug peripheral devices

Disconnect any unnecessary peripherals connected to your computer such as controllers and webcams.

Step 6: Run the game in Run as administrator mode

If you download the game from uPlay or Origin, you will see the game icon on the home screen, right-click on the game icon.

Step 7: Make sure the game installation process is correct

If you download the game from Steam, right-click on the game icon in the Library section  and select Properties.

8. Google Search

If you enter the game and receive a specific error message, remember it or copy it into the Google search box.

In case you play an online game and cannot connect to the game server, the game server is definitely at fault.

9. Go to game forums and ask

If the game you’re seeing an error about is a Steam game, right-click on the game icon and select Community Hub.

If you don’t find any help from the Community Hub, look for gaming forums on Facebook or sites across the internet.

Gaming forums or communities have a post section so you can also post a question to ask people in the forum.

10. Contact the game developer directly

If you have tried the 9 steps above and still cannot enter the game, you have met the game’s minimum specifications and the GPU driver has been updated to the latest version.

If the game you play is very hot (eg: PUBG), the developer may be very busy dealing with support requests, so when you contact the game’s technical support, be patient.

When you contact technical support, they will probably provide you with information such as how long it will take to fix the game or at least you will know whether the game you just purchased is defective or not.
